ROOM IN THE INN

Since 1990 South End United Methodist Church has been comitted to this program of offering overnight respite  to about 12 homeless men on first, third and fifth Friday nights of the months of November through March.  Our volunteers drive the men to and from the downtown center to our church, stay over night with the guests, cook and serve dinner, prepare breakfast, prepare a sack lunch, clean up, and wash sheets and blankets.

Our volunteer coordinators are Jenny and Rob Dodd.  Contact the church office to volunteer.      [ Read more]

Mountain T.O.P.

"Tennessee Outreach project" provides youth and adults an opportunity to participate in an ecumenical service program in the Cumberland Mountains of Tennessee, operated by the United Methodist Church.  Participants spend a week during the summer helping people in need by repairing or cleaning homes, doing yard work, working with community day camps and by visiting with these families.  A special spiritual and worship component is an integral part of the week's experience.

South End has participated in this program for more than 30 years.      [ Read more]     [See recent photos]
